  • There has been a growing interest in green cleaning products, not only for those with certain medical conditions such as auto-immune diseases, asthma, allergies, or bronchitis, but also for those simply interested in environmentally non-toxic solutions to conventional cleaning products.

Not only can many conventional cleaning products be costly, but many contain strong fragrances and harsh ingredients that could be of potential concern for homes with small children or pets.

Many stores are now carrying green cleaning products, however there are also many simple recipes to make your own cleaning products. Below we are sharing our favorites!

    1. All-Purpose Cleaner: 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/2 gallon of water.

    2. Air fresheners: Try using essential oil into a reed diffuser

    3. Bathroom Mold: One part hydrogen peroxide mixed with two parts water. Spray onto mold areas and let sit for approx. 1 hr. before rinsing.

    4. Creamy Soft Scrub: 2/3 cup liquid castile soap, 4 tsps. vegetable glycerin and 5 drops essential oil of your choice. Will last for 2 years.

  • 5. Furniture Polish: 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup white vinegar (distilled), 25 drops lemon essential oil.
